The Erie DAWN Program focuses on providing temporary housing, supportive services, enrichment activities, and youth programs to homeless women and their families. Erie DAWN offers mentoring services, financial coaching, family bonding activities, and after-school support for our youth.

Erie DAWN welcomes any adult woman into the program who meets the following guidelines:

  • Must be homeless or soon-to-be homeless
  • Must be able to get utilities in own name
  • Must be employed full-time or part-time if enrolled in an educational program or if disabled and receiving SSI/SSD
  • Monthly net income must be at least $1000; this can include child support or disability benefits
  • Must be drug & alcohol free for at least 6 months and have a solid recovery plan in place
  • Must have outpatient services in place if mental health issues are present
  • Must be willing to follow a monthly budget and work on debt repair
  • Must be willing to build an ongoing relationship with an assigned mentor on a consistent basis
  • Must be committed to developing program goals and taking action steps to achieve those goals
